News & Events

We ate, we drank, and we became more cultured this month at The Nest.

Hawke Media hosted our first happy hour of 2020 in the spirit of new beginnings and it was an occasion to remember. The new year is a time for celebration, reflection, and rebirth, which bred the inspiration for New Beginnings at Hawke Basel.

We invited five artists to exhibit in our gallery space, had a live Q&A with one of the exhibiting artists, Bethany Halbreich, an interactive vision board, a Walls Are For Murals pop-up shop, and so much more that contributed to a bustling atmosphere of creativity and discovery.

Here’s some of what you missed at our Hawke Basel Happy Hour (because words can only capture so much awesomeness):

The Artists

Bethany Halbreich is an artist with a cause that crossed paths with Hawke Media when it was time for her non-profit, Paint the World, to enter the digital world with a website. In exchange for a painting in the Hawke Nest, Hawke did a complete website build for Paint the World.

Bethany’s non-profit, Paint the World installs blank canvases with art materials in offices, schools, and localities to offer the people a creative outlet. Watch her inspirational TED talk on the intersection of art, intellect, and success:

Gena Milanesi is a self-taught painter whose work reflects a remastered reality through intense brushstrokes & movement. Her bold layers of paint function to achieve a distinct energy with oil, acrylic & other mixed mediums.

As a dual-citizen of the US & UK, she constantly refers to her roots as a source of inspiration.

Her work presents a simultaneous exploration of the contemporary that reoccurs showing concepts of newness & practices of the past. Her recent works interpret various imagery using monochromatic hues to underscore juxtaposed content in a straightforward manner.

Luke Lamar and his siblings opened up a creative space in their Santa Barbara community where they and others with a similar inclination could come and express themselves artistically. They name it Funk Factory after the neighborhood where it resides, The Funk Zone.

Blake Jamieson is a pop portrait artist in San Francisco, CA. Jamieson works with celebrities, professional athletes, and tech founders to create vibrant, one-of-a-kind works of art.

Jamieson’s collectors include Howie Mandel (America’s Got Talent), Rick Harrison (Pawn Stars), Gary Vaynerchuk (Vayner Media), and over 50 NFL Players.

Joan Allen is a photographer that specializes in striking depictions of people that tell rich stories.

A native Southern Californian, Joan was born and raised into a spirited family of nine, about an hour from Los Angeles. She also had a couple of cats, four dogs, two pianos and a variety of other instruments including violins, trumpets, flutes, french horns, all of which may or may not have been practiced at the same time.

Vision Board

We asked guests to reflect on their year and look into what they wanted for 2020. Some were humorous, some were ambitious, but they were all looking forward toward growth and improvement.

We want to project and inspire from the inside out because at Hawke Media our goal is to continuously get better as we help our clients grow.
